John Marraffino
President

Prior to founding VMC, John honed his media skills at Vickers and Benson and Grey advertising. John headed AOR assignments for Procter & Gamble ( out-of-home media) and broadcast AOR for Smithkline Beecham for 6 years. In 1996 John left Grey to found VMC media. He has 12 years of media experience and was educated at the University of Toronto where he received his B.A.. At U of T he studied physics, Canadian media, Canadian history and philosophy. John has also lectured on effective negotiations.

Derek Leaney
Media Director

Derek started his career in the media department of Toronto’s Saffer Advertising. There he was part of a team responsible for buying airtime in the United States and Canada. Grey Advertising of Toronto managed to lure him away from the media buying department and into Grey’s GMS (Grey Media Services) and Grey retail division. There he was responsible for media executions on some of Grey’s most prominent clients including Procter and Gamble, the then Smithkline Beecham, Canon and TD Bank. Derek is a graduate of Sheridan College’s Advertising & Marketing program.
